It was really that bad. The acting, mainly Rose Byrne was terrible. I couldn’t stand her rambling. I had a hard time believing these two people actually could be close friends. I got upset I wasted my time watching up to 5 episodes before I stopped. Should have not kept going after episode 1. Apple TV keeps featuring it and I can’t find out how to remove it from showing up. It’s so bland, it’s offensive.

Started watching it and then had to stop when a naked man hangs out with a little girl in secret…too many times. Other moments of the adult characters meeting again is also cringey. How is this a love story? Sorry this one really is outdated. That’s the problem with adapting popular books of a certain era for modern tv.

Spencer made the show better than it probably would be. Some of the storyline was hard to believe but I think Spencer’s acting grounds the story and keeps it interesting despite a slow pace. I wish there were more seasons!
