I was excited at the thought of a modern take on the original hit, but this show offers bad acting, repetitive story lines, and terrible chemistry between the actors. I can appreciate the effort at a diverse cast, with all good-looking actors and inclusive, gen z style story lines. It is simply boring. None of it is believable and it lacks the unique factor of the original show. Not to mention, allocating the teachers as gossip girl is not only cringy to watch but flat out unethical, instantly making those characters unlikeable. It’s always hard to reboot a show of this caliber but what they came up with is so bad that I don’t see how they could redeem it with a second season. Needless to say, I won’t be tuning in.
