Flapjaw

This is the Godzilla movie that his fans wanted for him. The excellent and understated joke in the credit sequence was one of many indicators that the filmmakers love the Godzilla franchise. The only reason to dislike this movie is if you have zero interest kaiju. Frankly, the criticisms leveled at the human characters are shallow and meaningless, as the critics expect to have characterization spoon-fed to them by overblown narration, but the way they interact with each other reveals them more dynamically than I'm used to with modern films. In short, the critics missed the point, and even what they disliked they are simply incorrect about. Watch this film on the big screen while you can, to enjoy the magnificent spectacle that it is.
