People who saw this must not have seen the one with Barbra and Kris Kristofferson. The chemistry, the acting, the improvisation and small comedic moments made it so real. This new version was so dang depressing. There was no high and low--it was all low. The lead character did not emote enough about Ally to show how he really felt. And good lord, how Barbra emoted about John Norman in the that version was so believable. I mean, did you see Kris/John Norman staring at Barbra and crying in certain scenes totally unpredictable. The newer version was so predictable. You know exactly where it goes. And i still don't know why he killed himself. They did not show enough of inner turmoil to get to the level of desperation. This new version could have happened down the street. Sorry. Just my my small opinion. But go watch Barb and Kris version. Such a bigger scale.
