So much better than the other crow movies that followed the amazing original .
But. Outside of the characters names and the fact that there is a small montage of a crow flying overhead screeching at Eric as he walks at night during the rainy city streets, thankfully it's a completely different movie and not a reboot remake.
I really struggled with the lack of actual undying real love in this one. It was a lust quick romance instead of a true innocent love. It did feel like a Harley Quinn and joker rather than Eric Draven and Shelley. I am grateful their deaths were less brutal and not as tortured.
I miss the character development of the "bad guys". Fun boy, etc. I miss the cop friend. I miss having the "sarah" character. I miss the longing and the heartbreak.
The soundtrack is nothing to swoon over.
But.
It was good as a stand alone film. Watch it with an open mind and don't try to compare it to the original. I'm glad we saw it. And hopefully this movie will create a whole new generation of appreciation for the comic book and the lore.
