As much as I loved the brutality of the gripping fight scenes which left me either at the edge of my seat or scooched against the sofa in awe, when you really try to understand the story it is somehow a bit all over the place. It lacked follow through on some of the scenes. The subplots are definitely confusing with too many parties involved... It did become interesting right at the end when they focused more on the Wallaces and the "investors"... Peaky Blinders, The Wire, Boardwalk Empire.. have a solid grasp on "crime and gangster" themed series.
Don't get me wrong, I like it, its just that the story could've been better. Maybe season 2 would yield more depth in their story, without compromising those epic nail biting scenes. Despite criticisms and negative reviews, the misplaced plot or the lack of it.. I still find myself looking forward to another season.
