(Spoilers) this is the first time I’ve written a review, and it hurts to say, but this movie should’ve never been made. However if you have a low IQ this movie is for you. But if you have a brain or believe sexualizing minors is bad, stay away. There is just a moral issue with an eleven year old girl being sexualized to the point where she is impregnated. Along with immediately showing after that they still have the brain of the age they were before they went to the beach. I’m not sure what genre this movie fits into, it’s horrifyingly bad plot leads to believe it’s a parody, but it takes itself too seriously. Along with this the scientific explanations they use tp describe what what happening made no sense. In simple terms magnesium doesn’t do anything with your body cells. On top of that there was a scene near the end of the movie where they emerged from a coral reef, no problem until it gives you a birds eye view of the area and there isn’t a coral reef. Even though they were just there. I also have an issue with they handled the doctor after he literally STABBED A MAN. They did nothing, they handled the issue about as well as white parents in a supermarket with a screaming child. Then they acted like there weren’t any red flags or warning when he killed the same man. And it’s not like they did anything then either, they just put his knife in an open bag that anyone could get to effortlessly. But the ending is what disturbed me the most, because it just just shows that sending them to the beach was entirely unnecessary, they measured the time the lady with epilepsy didn’t have a seizure with in time that wasn’t accelerated. Meaning there was no point in the entire movie, they could’ve given them the margaritas with medicine and simply monitored them for the duration of there stay. In conclusion don’t buy tickets and make the same mistake everyone else did, it is a waste of money and time, it upsets me that the budget was 18 million USD. Another complaint which is a little more minor, but I still feel like I should mention it, the foreshadowing is so blatantly forced and unnatural it makes me want to self destruct. It just feels like it’s not real people talking. All of the extra things are just foreshadowing that’s it. The characters attempt to foreshadow that time is about to be lost. TL;DR: awful science explaination and a plot that makes no sense a conclusion that baffles me, and characters are only there for plot relevance, not storytelling. Overall just bad.
