If you like CW's brand of melodrama and conspiracy-type plotlines, then you might like this. If you actually watched and enjoyed the original, or enjoy watching any well-written multi-faceted shows, for that matter, run away, very fast. About the only thing this show shares with the original is the names, and even some of those aren't the same. Fate is just a sadly typical, much overdone high school 'all the adults are evil and overly stupid', 'all the students have terrible tragic and/or toxic back stories, (except for Terra, the cliche too-cheerful one,) but are the only ones that can save the world' soap opera wannabe. There is relatively little magic, no single episode subplots to break up the tedium of the main, extremely depressive, ones, and the modern-world infrastructure makes it far too easy to forget it's supposed to be a fantasy world. Btw, if you're waiting for the transformations to happen, don't bother, Fate fairies aren't capable of that. The only one who even comes close is Bloom, who manages to grow little fiery wings for a few minutes, once, at the end of season 1.
