Generic. Poorly cast. Lacks realism, writing, cinematography, and cohesiveness. In the rewrite, distances and time don’t flow. An odd amount of unrealistic dramatic posing. (See note at the end) Imagine an amazing story loved by millions stripped of its complexity and pandered to teenagers. Most scenes are rushed and some make no sense at all. Characters were oversimplified and wrapped in plot armor. If the writers read the books, they either failed to understand them, or failed to understand humans in general. (***Spoilers***)…Fake Deaths Galore… In one scene, a commander must rush his forces to a fortification. He randomly forms ranks in the middle of a field, and the castle he came from has no pathway. He then charges the fortification with swords raised, only to dismount inside to use a crossbow from a porthole…Why stop to form ranks? Why charge into your own fortification?…The Eye of the World is only a few miles from the city? The writers COMPLETELY stripped the main character of any development. He does nothing, and we are given no reason to care about him. Bad writing all around. Hopefully it’s cancelled and remade sooner than later.
