As a long-term Dune fan I was looking forward to this as a stopgap before the next movie....but....it's a daytime soap opera masquerading as a space odyssey. A good cast spend inordinate amounts of time staring into nothingness and then suddenly spout genuinely awful dialogue. The sets are cartoon-like and if I was the producer, I would be asking where has the money gone because the whole thing looks cheap and nasty. Throw in some third rate soft-porn and there you have it, an abomination of a show. Don't waste your time watching this...

I so much wanted to like this show but it disappointed in so many ways. Too many storylines vied for attention, the result being that none felt resolved or fleshed out. The fake accents were very distracting and the acting verged on embarrassing. Characters seemed to change their personalities mid-series with no explanation or reason. On the plus side the costumes were beautiful but my understanding is thar these are period pieces and not reproductions so this is understandable. It appeared the writers were setting the viewer up for a second series but personally, I won't be watching.

From the sublime costuming to the epic cinematography, this move is a tour de force! Impossible not to feel a part of the action. Ever wanted to ride a Sandworm...well now you can. The fight scenes are very well choreographed and the actors bring the characters to life in a commanding way. Cannot recommend highly enough for true fans of the Sci fi genre and Dune fans in particular.

Not a film to recommend. The only character worth watching gets left behind in Tamworth! Someone seems to have lost the script about half way through and the actors are left to ad lib, hence the terrible "humour". I wanted to like this film, (Shane Jacobsen does his best with the material), but ultimately the characters in this road movie should have stayed at home.

Obviously everyone who watches a movie walks away with a different take but I can't help but feel that those who gave this a good review watched a completely different film! So many great actors were forced to deal with an awful script. None of the characters were believable and Susan Sarendons character comes across as the most narcissistic and cruel mother imaginable.

Beautifully acting and a wonderful screenplay make this movie a delight. An enlightening exploration of pure sexuality and learning to love and accept onself. Not for the prudish.
