All these negative comments by people who lack depth,talking about waiting on a plot ??? the whole movie was a plot. Several layers to this movie. loved the plot ,theme,acting,story arc,evolution and ending. Perfect. Oscar worthy. Reveals the harsh truth of what's going on in some of these churches that most of these people whining don't want revealed. A narcissist hypocritical promiscuous sexually aberrant preacher a devoted supportive wife who also loves the trappings and pedestal of being a first wife and slowly comes to the realization that not only is the husband not the man she thought he was but also that there is no salvation for him and to make matters worse he fails to see her, really see her and appreciate her efforts and support. The realization that she is the victim and really just an accessory sinks in. The dynamics and layers to this movie is plentiful. e.g The congregation perspective or angle etc.
