A clever piece of cinematography. Vice is as entertaining as it is informative. Its satirical approach to somewhat grave situations going on inside U.S.Government is a bold statement. The movie tells the ascent and almost-demise of one of the most vicious American politics: Dick Cheney, a CEO turned VP.
Vice makes some witfull observations at the power struggles and personal grievances that Cheney had to struggle with to really make it. A living example of the motto started from the bottom now we're here.
The movie mixes up different genres that enticed me to paying attention at all times. Vice is sometimes a comedy, a documentary, a biopic, an action film and so on. I found the mix quite refreshing and accurate.
Christian Bale delivered yet another round performance with yet another physical transformation. Vice owes much of its success to Bale's performance since the script is predictable and somehow bland.
All things considered, Vice is an entertaining film that lives up to its expectations but never tries to go beyond them.
