Badly written, predictable, and very patronising indeed towards people living in the countryside.
Very one-dimensional as well - all men are either predators, stupid or cheaters and women are clever and so much better. But mostly I couldn’t get over the fact how people from Dorset were being portrayed- like they needed someone from the ‘big city’(Birmingham!!!) to teach them basically everything. Quite arrogant.
I also found some inconsistencies quite irritating, e.g. when it’s said that Leila’s parents will come to the funeral but we learn earlier that her mum has been dead for a while. Hasn’t she got a proofreader?
