The book cruises through three familiar yet intriguing sentiments of human life, viz., love, heartbreak and melancholy. With an intrinsic feature of intimate feelings, the book outlines a duality of disposition. The poems on love evoke a profusion of emotions, often with an unattained coda. On the other hand, the poems on heartbreak and melancholy are delineated by a mark of composure and consolidation.
The poet’s effort in projecting her expressions could have reached a greater paragon with a stronger attention on phrasal structuring and a finer lexicon. Additionally, a slight rearrangement of the poems could have provided a nice transition from one emotion to the other. As such, the thought-provoking journey through a dichotomy of articulation leaves a two-fold trail of fonds and frailties.
