The Color Purple has always been my favorite film. I acted as an advisor on the film provided many of the African artifacts and jewellery, even one of the actresses . It moved me like no other film has with its strong message of loyalty and yearning. It also made me favor the color purple. I thought Margaret Avery should have gotten an award for her outstanding performance and I surely expected Oprah and Whoopie to get an award. I was extremely disappointed that the film received none of the 11 awards it was nominated for and demand a rerun and recount, if that were possible.
