The world of this movie is truly breath taking and that’s after my head is lost in the clouds upon hearing the film’s main theme. Honestly one of the most beautiful pieces of music I’ve ever heard. The visual/animation style is both beautiful and gritty. You feel the dirt on the surfaces of the castle while also swept away by the clouds and colours Sophie & co. Transport us by. The characters are all brilliant and... ugh I just didn’t want this movie to end. I was sold. I never questioned the unrealism as Miyazaki did such a great job at making it feel like it made sense without giving any explanation to it. My only criticism is that the ending felt rushed. Everything was so set up and engaging yet it felt like everything was wrapped up in mere minutes. The fact you can still love a film with a not-so-completely satisfying ending just goes to show how great the film is in every other avenue though.
