I liked/loved it up to a point. The two stories in tandem worked well. The protagonist became a big nothing-burger to the point that he thought if he hid on his couch the problem would go away. There was a lot of non-action in the middle there. Then he became a sleuth and he just kept digging even though we and he already knew most of the story. Did we need the extra symbolism for the title with him visiting the burial plot? Why did he never threaten to go to the police? Yes he might have suffered some disgrace but our tormentor would have likely been locked away on many counts.
The end wrecked it for me. We never got his realization of who was doing the tormenting until it was too late. I had figured it out about midway through and was looking forward to that reveal and altercation but instead we got a reguritation of how/why it all happened--most of which we already knew.
