I thought the movie is worth watching if you like a movie that doesn't do all the thinking for you. It is does a great job of leaving the judgments of what caused the war, who the good guys and bad guys are. You are left to come to your own conclusions.
I think the main strengths in the movie shows how a Harden war photlographer , who has seen the evil that mankind is capable of committing, is now face with the reality that this was actually happening to the United States.
I see some people didn't like the locations, I think the movie did a great job showing what happens when a country splits into a a civil war. It affects urban areas as well as rural areas.. Brother vs Brother, families split. Fighting will not be restricted to organized uniformed armies, but there will be all sorts of groups Fighting each other, many with their own agendas.
It's not a standard war movie, yet there are some great Fighting scenes, but more of a social commentary. I would like to think that nothing could happen to this country, but as a student of History, there are some common characteristics between our society today and of those societies in the past that fell into violent civil wars. We must learn from history not repeat it.
