I like the original Roadhouse and I also like most Jake Gyllenhall movies so I was looking forward to this. Never been so disappointed. I turned it off around half way through. Really poorly written and even more poorly acted. Not sure if its the director or Gyllenhall at fault but the lines and the grin are just completely fake and unbelievable. Do not waste your time on this absolute pile of garbage.

Clearly written by someone very poorly educated or incapable of undertaking the slightest touch of research. A man who is named publicly on the news as a person of interest in a bombing has called the police not once but twice and told them where he is and hours later there is still no police presence? Absolute joke. Armed police would have been at his flat and his family home within minutes of him being named a POI. Shocking waste of what could have been a good film.

5 minutes in and this bag of absolute garbage can be deleted forever. The director has no idea of the history of Africa, certainly nobody was using mma and martial arts grabs, holds and locks nor parkour as per the fight scene this appalling movie starts with. No doubt this will win awards, not because it is a good movie but because it is an african story with a majority black cast as usual for hollywood and its pathetic idea of the world.

Don't waste your time. Good plot idea, acting average, but the whole story gets ridiculous once the 'cops' arrive. Just becomes a ridiculous and implausible gore fest for no reason. Seems like the writer had a good idea and then hired the wrong director.

The film itself is exactly what we have come to expect from Shyamalan and I enjoyed the movie. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised by what I personally thought was an amazing acting performance from Bryce Dallas Howard. Having not seem many of her previous performances I have a new found respect for her as an actress. Bravo.
