This film is beautiful, subtle, delicate, and private like Degas' paintings of baths... This ensemble cast carefully plays the characters in a quiet neighborhood in the northeast somewhere. In order to connect the dots in this plot you need to listen and watch carefully to the very beginning of the movie. Be as patient as a bird-watcher. Rotten Tomatoes totally missed the the beginning of the story! Their critic missed the whole point of the story about an old man's attempted suicides. Wren knows his life story, everyone's life story; their pains, sorrows, and regrets. Not every character's life is completely examined, but if you watch closely, you will discover closure, healing, and "a beautiful gift." 'Change in the Air' is illuminating, meditative, and reflective. It is worth the change in your pocket, in the air, in life.
