Miral - Horror Movie with a Logic
When is the last time you saw a horror movie with a logic?. If your are still thinking, it's time to see Miral, maybe the first horror movie which unrevals beautifully as a horror/thriller which tries to end logically.
The story starts gradually taking its time to build the characters and suspense increases and our mind tries to put things into perspective. The camera angle and lighting and the silence makes it a eerie watch. The movie portrays emotions and suspense and the script builds up perfectly within a running time of less than 2 hours. The editing team has worked over time to make the movie as crisp as possible. Bharath needs to do more subtle roles like this, as his body language as a caring husband and parent syncs well with Vani bojans natural performance. All other characters play their part well and slowly they jell with the car, windmill , mask and other elements to make the movie a confluence of man and material. The background score echos even after the movie gets over and it keeps on ringing in ear for a very long time. The new young music director makes a mark despite the film having no songs. The cast, location, cinematography all add to the film's eerie mood. The movie ends rather abruptly and even though it makes us think and we try to connect the dots , there was a sense of some logical gaps like how a wife accepts her husband's death just like that. Also the director seem to have rushed the end rather abruptly. The rather humorous end scene which amazes us is when all the characters who played their part walking like ordinary ppl and go about their routine. The film ends with a message like all Axess Film Factory's (AFF) productions and of course it's one hell of a msg.
