My mind is boggled!! How on earth can this have happened? My theory is that the parents were immediately enamoured with B from their very first meeting. They were intoxicated with the friendship and enjoyed having him over. Very quickly, the mum started to have feelings towards him, and the dad (who is quite obviously gay) had secret feelings too. However due to their strict Mormon faith they had to keep these feelings in. Their obsession with him for some bizarre reason meant that all rational thought went out the window. As someone said in the film towards the end…the Brobergs let him have access to their daughter in return for sexual favours. The dad was ashamed of his sexual dalliance with B, but the mum had a wry smile of delight when recounting her eight month affair. There is NO way that man could have spent so much time in the girls bedroom without the parents CONSENT. I wouldn’t be surprised if the alien brainwashing story was made up by the girl and her family to explain away what went on. They didn’t want the community to know the real truth. The parents in my eyes are no different to the abuser they invited into their lives. They helped perpetrate the abuse in exchange for keeping their consciences clean. Seriously THE most bizarre story I’ve ever heard. Only in America folks!
