A really beautiful, gut-wrenching tale of a girl and her progression as an artist and a person. I didn’t know much about Artemisia Gentileschi beforehand, so this book was my introduction to her, and I’m so thrilled it was, because this has easily become one of my favourite books. Obviously there are a few historical tweaks, but I doubt there are many historical fiction books that don’t tweak some bits. Overall, I’d absolutely recommend this to anyone who loves feminism, justice, and the importance of self worth and empowerment.
