Recommended to both newcomers and seasoned fans, the first season of One Piece completely nails the chemistry and heart that makes the Strawhats so likeable. This is in part due to the amazing performances, fun dialogue, nailing the dramatic moments, and authentically representing the characters, including their tragic backstories.
While it felt a bit camp at first, there’s this charm that creeps in slowly that completely blew the feeling of cautious unfamiliarity out of the water.
The season executed the prologue to the story very well, and I’m looking forward to seeing how it handles the scale of the conflicts in the second act.
