This movie was fairly good, but the fact of a new villain felt kind of unnecessary or confusing. Spinel. Spinel had a pretty decent backstory, but logically, she would've had to have at least one appearance in the original show. I mean, she can't just appear and claim she'd been abandoned for 6000 years and it's "all Pink Diamond's fault". That's another thing-- the fact she didn't have anything to do for 6000 years. I felt as if the writers got a bit lazy making her backstory because instead of making her a bit more complex, they instead just made her be ghosted for millennials with no gem or diamond even question about her.
