It should have been it's own stand alone game, like the princess Peach game was. Calling it a Legend of Zelda game but not having Link as the main protagonist just doesn't sit right with me. Sick of seeing people say "The first true Legend of Zelda game" just because Zelda is the main character. I'm sorry but that's not how it works. It is NOT a true Legend of Zelda game, in the slightest.
Imagine if Nintendo were to make a new Metroid game and you play as a Metroid. "ThAt'S a TrUe MeTrOiD gAmE".
TLoZ is no longer the franchise I loved. It died after Skyward Sword.
