I experienced real ethical conflict with this series. Under it all the series demonstrates how suicide harms so many left behind. Its hard not to call that ultimately selfish. And in this story revenge was clearly a motive. Suicide gestures are sometimes used as a way to induce guilt. When one is successful at ending their own life their is much more agonizing hoplessness involved. But do we really want to put this message out there to our youth? A message of making others feel to blame, remorseful, and really suffer because they may have contributed to the reason someone killed themselves. Just might be a dangerous message.. The message of the harm bullying does was however, well demonstrated. Bullying is a national epidemic and no doubt this series sends a powerful message.
