If ever there was a better example of serendipity - I, very randomly, watched this film on a pop up trailer in a field at the side of Coniston Water. A drive-by happening upon, after a day of strenuous dog walking in the fells. We, Ruby (dog) and assembled group of humans, chatted, shared delicious food, beer (Ruby drank the lake) and a fire. We nested ouselves in enormous deckchairs, amoungst spectacular Lakeside scenery and watched WAYFARING STRANGER - even got to chat afterwards, share our views, experiences, insights...
This wonderful film has lived with/haunted me ever since. The subject matter, cinematography, sound, editing - all of it enthralling and so very very moving.
