Even if I had not read all of Bukowski’s book prior to seeing Barfly, I would be in love with Chinaski. Mickey’s Chinaski sits in my guts- always.

I’m not gonna be all fanciful in my review. Yes, I read the book but this movie is like a sped up version of something once heard. All of it jam packed into hours regardless of a storyline.
