Genuinely one of the best video game experiences I've had in recent times as a lover of Final Fantasy games and narratively driven games in general. The combat is extremely varied with the different Eikon abilities you can utilize, while lacking in certain factors like status effects. The cinematics of the game are both gorgeous, intense, and very satisfying. Personally I'm not a huge fan of the basic quick-time event gameplay inserted into many of the combat scenes.
Heavily enjoyed it keeping largely to the genre of "fantasy" with only small amounts of sci-fi throughout the plot, where many of the previous Final Fantasy installments have a heavy focus on the sci-fi aspects.
My main critiques lie in would be that the combat with smaller enemies being to easy, seeing as they are incredibly easy regardless of level due to how easily they are staggered and spread out.
I will pay absolutely no regard to the reasons people are review bombing. It is an artistic choice and particularly accurate despite their carefully selected "experts" might say. The world has its fair share of racial diversity between the Ironbloods and the Dhalmekians, but that apparently isn't nearly enough for the woke American crowd.
