I adore every Fantastic Beasts film, and this one is no different. Even though Johnny Depp is fantastic and I regret that he was fired, Mads more than fulfills the role. He is the best as Grindelwald and lends a certain vulnerability to both his portrayal and the nuanced, exquisitely studied relationship between him and Dumbledore. I gasped when I saw the opening scene because it was so real and honest.
