If you want a movie that blends style, emotion, and sound into something truly unforgettable, TRON Legacy delivers. Itโs not just a visual experience itโs a full sensory trip into a universe that feels both futuristic and human at the same time. I think it's a film that manages to feel timeless every time I watch it. It pulls you in with its breathtaking design, hypnotic energy, and one of the best electronic soundtracks. From the moment the grid lights up, youโre immersed in a world that feels sleek, alive, and completely unlike anything else on screen. Really graphically unique. The visual design is nothing short of stunning. Even years later, the special effects still outshine a lot of modern CGI heavy blockbusters.
I think the face on CLU could have been better. But for its time it was an achievement. I bet someday they may rerelease the movie with an improved face on CLU and TRON.
The environments are fun to see with glowing cities, digital landscapes, and high speed light cycle battles. Every sound from Daft Punkโs score seems to breathe life into the film. Itโs rare for visuals and music to merge this perfectly, but i believe TRON Legacy nails it. Excellent work Daft Punk!
What continues to surprise me is how underrated this movie remains. Critics were lukewarm when it came out, but I honestly think they missed the point. This isnโt a film trying to push messages or reinvent storytelling, itโs about immersion. Itโs a cinematic escape that lets you drift into another world, free from the noise of politics or forced symbolism. Itโs pure science fiction fantasy with a unique twist on science.
I do wish they would have included Tron more. Also they could have built out the interaction with Sam and Kevin Flynn a bit more. Possibly even having Sam do some type of "user" coding abilities. In the original Tron movie, Kevin Flynn was able to quickly pick up some aspects of affecting the systems. I think Sam should have done the same, since clearly early on, you can see he had technical skills.
But even with those flaws I would still rate this an 8 out of 10, if not more.
