I wish I had had a Stargirl to read as a teen. It would have helped me to be stronger, to love myself, to disregard others’ judgments. What a courageous protagonist! I liked the author’s first person peripheral approach. The narrator observes, judges, and respects Stargirl but does not really know her thoughts or motivations until later in the novel. It works.
