I don't understand how people can call this 'irreverently funny' and 'delightfully shocking' though it is this praise on the cover that drew me to it. There seems to be a new fashion for blood and gore, all the same old horror but now done with a supposed light-heartedness that makes it something to laugh about. Other commenters here have raved about the book, and I'd like to ask them a question, and welcome their replies. Why not a book from a rapist's point of view? In the same jocular manner, vigilante righteousness, detailed descriptions of inventive torture and rape? Why not? Would you find this as delightful?

Excellent social history of the lucky epoch of us boomers. Witty, funny, sweet (not saccharine). Great characters, you might recognise yourself, I did.

Silly. Sort of fun in an anglo guns-'n'-capers and classic characters sort of fashion. Lots of shooting, bodies, twists and turns but all gratuitous. Formulaic. Reads like he was thinking of how it's going to be filmed. Literary equivalent of tabloid journalism.

Excellent for the first 95%. The suspense is carried well for the most part but the resolution is messy and confusing. And anyway, what was Sara's problem?

It's got a lot of good points and lot of effort went into writing it but a lot more effort has to go into reading it.
