Avoid Poor Things. It pretends feminism and instead thoroughly sexualizes the female body, no matter the maturity of the female who embodies it.
It tries to leverage female sexual development, but then gets stuck in the adolescent, sexual awakening phase. In fact, it ends up telling the story of a female, with the brain of literally a developing baby, who gets stuck in a hot woman's body, to then explain why she agrees and explores the sexual world. It might have been ok, but this world is presented to her via the viewpoint of a multitude of men who want to have sex with her. Worse, this poor baby, then developing girl / adolescent gets repeatedly taken away, kidnapped and then raped, over and over, and ends up figuring she might as well get paid for it to help wriggle away from her conniving kidnapper / groomer. This is no movie about a woman exploring the world. In fact, this movie kind of offers a sick rationale that if a little, immature girl looks grown up, she can say yes to all kinds of sex. Again and again.
And finally, our heroine, Bella, repeats the immoral acts initiated in the opening scenes, to play god and mess with and entangle life forms.
The only message worth taking away is that when abuse happens, it's often repeated.
Don't see it.
