Gayle Atkinson

Powerful film about friendship, honor and father/son relationships. Coach Murphy, portrayed by Michael Shannon, was a noble alternative to Alex's father. Alex was in a painful, toxic relationship with his own father, as is the case with so many sons who have to fight to be their own person when their father is overpowering.

It was insipid and lacked a strong story line. Don't feel bad if you miss the movie.

I thought this film was superbly crafted. The 60s culture backdrop was deftly woven, Leonardo DiCaprio's portrayal of Rick Dalton was rich and deep, and Tarantino wrote at ending that was much less heart wrenching - the evil doers brought about their hideous end.
