Oobi is something of a celebrity in my house, even now that he's off the air. There's just something about the show that set it apart from all the other kid-oriented fare on Noggin, and made my kids and I absolutely fall in love with it. Maybe it's the nostalgic look of the homey sets, maybe it's how each "actor" gave it their all and created some of the most lovable and relatable characters ever...out of nothing but hands and eyes. Either way, we all still make "Oobies" with our hands from time to time, and we have a running joke where one of us will make an Oobi hand pose in every family photo. Long live the Oobies.
