This is a good movie, maybe not great, but good. In my estimation, in 2013 and even now, people aren't ready for a black man and his son to save earth. In most end of the world scenarios, black people aren't even there. Or maybe there's that one guy who you never really find out if he makes it or not. Anywho, substitute Cloney and a Culkin at the time, same script, budget, director and I'm willing to bet all of a sudden it's a masterpiece... not because they are any better actors, but because the suspension of disbelief isn't as far reaching. This is America.....even as the end of the earth looms in the background.
