I watched all season one episodes in one night. There's no real plot to this story. Her family is very proud of their Jamaican heritage but moved to a country where most of the population is not carribean. That is what you signed up for when you left your country behind. Her anger towards her mother didn't make any sense. It was clear that her mother was struggling with mental health issues. The daughter seems heartless and selfish. She is always upset about something and lashes out. But she also complained that black women are always seen as 'angry black women'. Also, she goes to therapy (good idea) except the therapist is a non-black woman. How would this therapist understand her 'plight' as a black woman? The story just didn't make sense and, honestly, it was boring to watch.

I can only give my opinion based on season 1, episode 1. Honestly, didn't even get through the entire episode. One of the characters (the cousin) has a poor vocabulary, so just says the f-word repeatedly. Not for me. If i get extremely bored, might give it another try.

This show is really popular, so I decided to binge watch. I'm mid season 2 and there's been a murder or brutal beating every episode. The law enforcement is horrible. Beth is one of the worst characters in tv history. Her character would be better tolerated in a smaller role. She is just a sickening person. Also, there's too much profanity (constant use of f-word). I am not caucasian myself, however, they are often portrayed as degenerates, vicious bullies, and/or ruthless murderers. The most accurate portrayal is the Gen Z-style parenting. The little boy is undisciplined and lacks respect. Two stars - because i like Kevin Costner
