Rewatching a second time three years after the first immersion. Immersion: that’s what A French Village requires. Some story details have been lost in-between. What remains is the sensory pallet of the characters, each discovering their own weight on the scale of fidelity/complicity, and taken together, a single community discovers its composite weight. Who would I be? Who would we be? How much am I and are we willing to pay for survival? These are the questions the series asks of me, of us. Though I do not know for certain, I am troubled by what the answers may be.
