I really wouldn't bother to watch this drivel. It doesn't help that there is not one decent scene, that the acting is like the script, dreadful and the plot is ridiculous. One German looks very similar to Freddie Mercury and the others, MAD Max rejects. About as sincere as Fred West's denials. Avoid.

Amateur theatricals despite a decent cast who are let down by a corny script. Less holes in a sieve than in this plot! Charioteer, avoid this hokum.

In terms of Phoenix as Napoleon, I have to agree that it was a performance that lacked depth and width. Rod Steigers portrayal in Waterloo must be the template and this fell far short. In contrast, Josephine was exquisitely played, you felt invested in this dark, complex and melancholy characterisation. Battle scenes were excellent, especially Austerlitz. Worth a watch on these cold winter nights.
