I'm an Indiana Jones fan and have watched his 4 movies many times and still enjoy watching those movies. Sadly this movie has lowered the bar as low as it gets. It's more like a fake Indy movie aimed at the younger audience who have not watched other Indiana Jones movies and are not Indy fans. It's a politically correct happy-ending Disney cartoonish version of Indiana Jones.
The choices of actors was simply unwise. The second role actor (Helena - Phoebe Waller Bridge) did not fit this role and could not deliver what was expected. Her side kick kid companion did not serve any purpose. The diver's role (Anthony Banderas) was too brief. Why would you underutilize a great actor like Anthony Banderas? The Tangier pursuit scene was too long and unrealistic. The time travel was an unpleasant out-of-nowhere surprise. The presence of Marion Ravenwood was too short and unexplained. The last scene of the movie (Indy and Marion reunite again) was too cheezy and reminds me of a family therapy session not an Indy movie (hey old man, you have done too much adventure. Go back to your wife and live happily ever after!).
If this wasn't an Indiana Jones movie I would call it a good (not great) movie. As an Indiana Jones movie, this movie is a disappointment.
