It's commonly ignored that it has some themes of pedophilia.
Like the past "almost" romance between the robot girl and the inventor man. Weird tension that went into adult-hood, and when robot girl died.
Made it slightly uncomfortable to watch, certainly it wasn't the intentions of the writers. But it was also just too creepy to ignore.
