Moonlighting was one of the best written, best acted Detective/Romance comedy/dramas from the 80s. A young unknown actor by the name of Bruce Willis was cast as David Addison a private detective that wasn't exactly lighting the world on fire. His partner in the agency, and unwitting partner at that, Maddie Hayes was played by Cybill Shepherd. The dialogue alone of overlapping lines and double entender jokes kept the show at a fast pace especially the first two seasons which were arguably the show's best seasons. there were some standout episodes and some of the later Seasons as it went through five seasons total but due to not being able to produce episodes on time shooting between actors producers and Network unfortunately the writing and the episodes began to suffer in season 3 and beyond especially later on when the series became more of a soap opera than an actual crime romance drama series. Sadly by the time the cast writers and everyone were on board to make changes it was already too late and the show was doomed but still definitely worth a watch even though it's dated due to the hairstyles and fashions the series is a great escape and a lot of fun still to this day lots of laugh out loud moments and brilliant acting and scripting. If you've never seen it before it's definitely worth a watch especially if you're Bruce Willis fan this is Willis at some of his finest comedic moments and even dramatic moments keep in mind this was pre-die hard days when he was just starting out. The later seasons were win Willis was in high demand and had already filmed die hard but still was always a great character. I watch these with fond memories of the '80s shoulder pads and crazy fashions and hairstyles great stuff check it out if you get the chance.
