As I was barely a teenager when I first saw this movie, I can say that this is not your typical kids movie because it didn't have repetitive adult innuendo every other minute to keep parents from falling asleep or complaining they were watching a movie in theaters that their kid picked out. It was the story of humans ever-going desire to create something only because they ask themselves if they can do something, not should they. The main bad guy wasn't an evil genius or someone with a grudge, it was a businessman who saw only the potential of gain at the expense of someone or something else's own life and existence. The hero, a boy on a journey who simply loves making new friends and strives to be a better person than what he was the day before. As a Pokemon fan and as a father if I could meet the people who pushed for this movie to be made, I would say thank you for making this movie. before you trash this movie, watch it not as a critic, but as if you had never seen it.
