Actual rating 2.5 stars but since I can’t award 1/2 a star… gonna just rate it a two. It’s nth special. Action scenes are good (cgi is abit wonky sometimes tho)but the rest of the drama and story ( which is about 80% of this series ) is mediocre and awkward at best. Overall I don’t know why they decided to do this to the franchise. It clearly wants to tell its own story. So why slap Halo on it if it doesn’t even pull from it meaningfully or use the characters well?what’s worse is they’ve already preempted this and have gone on record trying to say that this series should be taken as it’s own thing… then why do they keep putting in Easter eggs and tidbits from the game and actual lore. You can have your cake and eat it too. Overall while it’s not total trash, it’s a very uninspired and very average show at best with a coat of Halo paint over.
