Was expecting to be scared, unfortunately was more bored then anything. It's not a bad movie, just a step down from the 2013 reboot. The kills were quite tame, aside from a lot of blood in 2 kills. As a evil dead fan I was disappointed to see the movie break its own rules on on how to deal with the demons***SPOILER ALERT*** fire and dismemberment doesn't work anymore. I don't know why but it just really bugs me that our protagonist doesn't actually solve the problem nor is smart when dealing with them. She isn't really a well written capable character, but instead just someone just lucking their way through the story. The mom is genuinely creepy and it is nice that the setting is now in a city(even though most of the action happens in 1 apt room). I was just kind of let down by this movie. I think this movie could have done better with stronger writing and not having your cast make up more then 50%kids which is why I think some of the kill scenes were a little lame
