I went into this moving literally knowing NOTHING about it! It was a great time period piece with beautiful scenery I happened to catch in a commercial that I barely processed. We got a gift certificate to Regal and decided to go see it.
Oh my goodness! The authenticity of the set, costumes, the water, the boat - amazing! The struggles of some of the crew, the coaches, the school/athletic team politics, all were just so on point.
I am cheering hard for this movie as it was so refreshing to highlight overcoming obstacles without the victim mentality. No extra language issues, sexual situations, or other unnecessary drama that finds its way into movies. Everything was so intentional and would HIGHLY recommend to anyone! I don't even know why its rated PG 13?
Go see this movie before they pull it from the theaters to be replaced with the trash that production companies think you want to see. More movies like this that highlight working together, overcoming struggles, mentorship, common goal as a group versus individual successes would be great to see!
