Well written. That said, I did not relate to the male protagonist, nor did I find it the least bit funny. What I learned was that the English drink A LOT. Are they all alcoholics? What I didn't understand was how the protagonist could afford to go drinking every single night until the wee hours of the morning without a clear source of income. The female protagonist seemed more realistically drawn, perhaps because the author has a sense of the feminine experience.
