I'm glad to finally see an adult-oriented mostly animal-talky (with the aid of CGI). There's also another movie called "The Voices" with Ryan Reynolds, another R-Rated film with some animal's talking.
The rating says it has: persuasive language, it does, but its not like they say it every 5-10 seconds throughout the entire movie. As for raunchiness, its mostly censored through shadows or cuts. All in all this is actually a light R rating compared to most R ratings from say the 2000s.
The movie also covers most cliché dog quirks (involving mirrors, breed types, poop, the mailman, etc). Overall it has a good length, good direction, a good cast of dog characters, and enjoyable writing, and it even has heart too. I would see it a second time. I would even like to see a more high-budget, lengthy, sequel (if there ever is an opportunity).
